sliding into a glimpse
here's the cool thing i got to do today: was taken into the museum of paleontology and shown some cool stuff- fossils found during the first field work funded by the state of calif. in 1864? (don't have my notes in front of me), for example, a clam fossil found on alcatraz, lots of other things, plus original notes. also saw a fossilized walnut (it sounds dumb but it's amazing) from around the merced area and a fossilized tree limb that was obviously gnawed by a beaver, as well as cool dinosaur bones, specifically an upper part of a skull, found in blackhawk. it was the coolest thing.
