In response to yesterday's conversation, please note the following changes to the site:
1. Regarding the difficulty of navigating the discussion chronologically, please note that I have added another option to the left-hand navigation bar: Discussion--by Topic. I have labeled the original link Discussion--by Date and left it on as an option.
2. All members now have the option of creating folders in "filer". Only the creator of a document of folder can delete it.
3. Non-members are not able to view and download files in "filer".
Please keep sending along questions and ideas!

Hi,
I've been tidying up the Earth Science Web pages and decided to experiment with an alternate presentation.
Our present layout is multi-layered. The first layer is the scope and sequence. Below that lies a level where each topic is expanded and activities/resources are listed. The third level contains the details on the activities and resources. This is somewhat cumbersome. BTW, you can find our draft at

I decided to try an alternate approach for a subsection of the scope. Focusing on the section we called "Introduction to the Earth", I've put it in a more narrative form. Let me know what you think.

I haven't finished this, of course, but I was interested in feedback. Is this layout a better model?
