At the IU's Digital Learning Material site, you will find a resource called Our Changing Weather. The site provides a complete science lesson plan for grades 1, 2, or 3, in the form of a journal for recording weather observations. With Spring here now, it might be just the resource needed for the classroom full of budding scientists who need to begin to learn how to gather data and record observations.
Visit the IU DLMindex for more digital materials.

Q. What are DLMs? A. Digital Learning Materials. IU DLMs are collections of digitized articles, stories, photographs, classroom exercises and activities; they address specific topical and standards-based instructional needs for K-12 teaching and learning.
The first IU DLMindex was unveiled last year. Now an there's an expanded DLMindex--more digital resources; search features to more easily locate material; and meta-data--which is data about the data in a unit of information--that makes it easier to search and find what you want.
This is an experimental site--a next step on IU's path to a fully realized Berkeley Open Learning Environment (B-OLE) where education resources are easily found, saved, and shared; and where publically available digital information enables any teacher, student, or user to easily search Berkeley resources to create and build a custom collection. |

The Interactive University Project (IU) enables UC Berkeley to make its unmatched resources of people and knowledge available on the Internet. We serve learners and educators, targeting K-12 teachers, students, their families, and local communities throughout the Bay Area and California. |

A third phase of work is set to commence in Fall 2002. The goal is to open UC Berkeley resources to K-12 teachers, students, and all learners, by making them available on the Internet. A new website explains and demonstrates some of the plans and ideas.
