Annual Reports

Click here for copies of annual reports submitted to the School University Partnership Program, formerly the UC Berkeley Pledge. The 1999 report contains information about the initial two-year phase of IU work, from 1996-1998, and discusses the twenty pilot projects completed during Phase 1 of IU. The reports for 2000 and 2001 track the 2nd Phase of IU work. In partnership with the San Francisco and Oakland Unified School Districts, the IU set out to develop a model of how the University can best use the Internet to help K-12 students, their families, and teachers in disadvantaged urban communities.

Project Evaluation

Here are evaluations based on project goals and objectives aid in self-monitoring and allow project course corrections, assessment of short-term impacts, and development of indicators of long-range impact. The Interactive University Project's evaluation of work carried out under a Department of Commerce Technology Opportunities Program (TOP) grant was chosen in Spring 2001 as an exemplary evaluation. The Department of Commerce was a major funder of IU's Phase 1 Projects.

TOP requires all grant recipients to conduct evaluations of their projects. At the TOP site you will find both the IU's own evaluation report, and an independant case study report, commissioned by TOP and conducted by WESTAT, a Rockville, Maryland, research and consulting firm. Each of these files is archived as a PDF file.
