Home for April 28, 2000

A good reminder for those of us who are enamored with the business plan/executive summary/elevator pitch model of communication of what we might be losing in that mode of discourse: http://www.tcrecord.org/PrintIdKwParam.asp?@IdNumber=10515 (A limitation of the essay is not taking into account the power of multiple ways of communication -- some folks are visual learners and being able to see words on a screen might have greater impact than listening to a paper that was actually meant to be read.)

I will have to take a look at various campus portals, including: http://www.campuspipeline.com/

There's a webnet talk next week on worldfree (an "answer engine") that I can't attend: http://www.worldfree.com/
