After Christmas

NPR on the web

I'm overwhelmed by the depth and quality of the NPR website. So many of my favorite programs are archived there: Talk of the Nation, This American Life, Fresh Air, All Things Considered. I've also enjoyed TheConnection (from WBUR, Boston) and being able to listen to KQED radio on the web.

Good work

Earlier in the week, I discovered the Diane Rehm Show (from WAMU, another NPR affiliate) when doing a search on Lawrence Lessig. (Rehm's interview with Lessig is worth listening to by anyone interested in intellectual property issues).

Right now, I'm listening to another segment, a Diane Rehm interview with Howard Gardner (realaudio) "Psychologist Howard Gardner talks about what it means to do 'good work' -- work that is both professionally fulfilling and socially responsible. His new book is based on in-depth interviews with people working in the fields of journalism and genetics." (The Good Work Project website is mentioned by Gardner in the interview.)
