creating good collections; bell hooks
I took the plunge
I just upgraded from Radio 7.0.1 to Radio 8. Things seem to be working until I tried to publish my blog to the "cloud". But as I was struggling, I got an email from Lawrence Lee. He pointed out that he noticed that I had problems and gave me the solution I needed (but did not know at that point I needed.) Lawrence is great -- I've found that ever since he joined the staff of Userland, the quality of the help I have received with respect to Userland products has gone up many notches in responsiveness and friendliness.
RSS and news aggregation
I'm trying to get the news aggregation working in Radio 8 with little luck. What gives? Later: I just deleted all my old stories in aggregatorData.stories -- and then the News aggregation function started working.
One new pref available in Radio 8 has already made me happy: enabling checkboxes to be on or off by default [link for users running Radio 8] In Radio 7, I would be getting so many news items streamed in to the aggregator that I would spend all my time checking boxes to delete items. Now, all the items are set to delete by default. By turning this option on, I just have to uncheck items that I want to be saved.
(A probably better solution would be to do what Yahoo mail does -- add Javascript to both check all boxes or to clear all the boxes. -- but this new pref is a good start and doesn't require Javascript.)
