Well, I'm interested.... #
Lynn wrote: "I have the justification that the IU partners are using them, so I must play along, but that's rather lame. What sort of person after all, thinks so highly of her own opinions that she assumes anyone else would or should be interested? This is the nagging doubt in my own mind as I blog along. Is this a female train of thought. There are women bloggers, but I'd betcha anything we represent far less than 50% of bloggers. How would anyone ever test this theory, though?"

Well, I'm very interested in what Lynn has to say and think! I think of the Web as a very big place that allows one to write for a selected audience (perhaps a very small audience). And as long as you don't mind the whole world potentially reading your thoughts, you might as well put it out there. In fact, I really appreciate other people putting their seemingly mundane and ordinary thoughts out there -- especially since the vast majority of my own thoughts are mundane. The Web has opened up exploration of many more facets of life, including adding many more personal voices out there.

I don't know about the male vs female viewpoint in terms of blogging. But when I blog, I'm not assuming that anyone else would be interested. I assume that those who are interested can read my blog -- and those who don't care don't have to read it. My blog isn't that prominent -- one has to look for it to find it. It's not like writing an editorial for the New York Times!

I'm back but I'm braindead #
On Monday and Tuesday, I was at the UCCSC conference at which I gave my one-hour talk. On Wednesday, I hung out with other UC people who were interested in IMS, OKI, uPortal and web services plus people from those specific projects. Fred Beshears was the mastermind behind bringing us all together.

The conference was excellent -- but I'm absolutely braindead now.
