| OKI XOSIDs: the way forward? # |
OKI - Project - Update:
The language bindings derived from the XOSIDs will continue to be the mechanism intended to provide interoperability. The XOSIDs themselves are not designed for direct use. Only developers porting the OSIDs to new technologies need to concern themselves with the XOSIDs and related XSLT (for instance, Java developers wishing to work with OSIDs should use the native Java interface bindings to achieve interoperability goals). Individuals or organizations attempting to port the OSIDs to a new technology are encouraged to contact the O.K.I. project to help assure that such activity can be officially recognized and to reduce possible duplication of effort.
I'm intrigued since I've long wanted to try out MIT OKI OSIDS but being a Python programmer, I have never quite figured out how I could make my applications interact with the Java-centric OKI specs. Are XOSIDs the way forward?
