Comparing spirals with FlickrImage #
I have found the "blog a picture" feature in Flickr to be handy when commenting on a particular picture. I don't have such a good system for blogging two or more pictures. Here, I make use of the FlickrImage macro that I have written for this wiki. I remember that I had included the ability to present a series of images by feeding the sequence as a comma-separated list of image numbers. For example, by typing
FlickrImage("20514891,20261688,20261530",size='Small', title="@TITLE",description="@DESCRIPTION")

I get the following pictures with their titles and descriptions:

a colorful manhole
This manhole reminds me of an electric burner that I had photographed.
the electric burner
Why doesn't the entire element light up?
electric burner (shot with a flash)
You don't see the red of the burner but you do see the entire burner element now.

Thanks, Lynn #

I was flattered by Lynn's comment:

I haven't been reading Raymond's wiki for a while, but went back today and found many treasures, most of which I only remotely understand what he's doing.  This seminar idea sounds fascinating, but I'm probably not the right audience for it: too un-tech-y.  But as a coattails rider I would like to say that I find reading things that are technically out of reach for me is still instructive, as I can get a flavor of where the cutting edge research is, even if I don't really get the details.

I aspire to make more of my technical ruminations comprehesible to non-technical people -- so please bear with me!
