Notelets for 2002/12/08 #

I have a larger post in mind -- but for now, let me just make a few small observations....

  • Rick told me that Paul Wolfowitz, "a principal architect of U.S. policy toward Iraq" will be speaking at the Commonwealth Club of California today at 11:30am.  The talk will be broadcast on KQED Radio at 12:30pm and 8pm.  You can listen to KQED online....
  • Paul Krugman has a column on the FCC:  "Digital Robber Barons?" in the NYTimes today.
  • According to the Pew Report What the World Thinks in 2002 [thanks, Chris and my friend Peter for pointing this out], "Canada is the only country in the West in which a majority of those surveyed express satisfaction with national conditions."  (I remember being very happy when living in Canada, where our gripes seemed very minor -- like when Wayne ("the Great One") Gretsky was traded off to L.A.

More to come....
