Christopher Hitchens and Mark Danner to debate tomorrow #

I plan to attend the debate between Christopher Hitchens and Mark Danner tomorrow night at Zellerbach Hall.  The topic is "How Should We Use Our Power? Iraq and the War on Terror".  I suspect that it will be a very interesting and challenging discussion -- one that I hope will help clarify for myself (and others, of course)  the key issues at hand.

For (possibly) representative articles, take a look at Hitchens' last "Minority Report" for The Nation and Danner's latest opinion piece for The New York Times.  I'm counting on Orville Schell to bring the best out of the two debaters and to keep the dialog focused and thoughtful.  Hitchens seems to have a reputation for brutal wit; Danner, I suspect and hope, will be up for to counter wit for wit's sake.  No cheap shots, please, tomorrow.
