It's been a good start of the year -- for the most part #

What happened to January?  In recent memory, when a month flies by, I typically lament the passing of the month and the many opportunities that passed me by.  But January 2003 has been really different for me.  I'm pleased to say that the optimism with which I started this year is sitll very much with me today.  January was a very busy month but an extremely productive one for me, personally and professionally.  I'm dealing with some really deep issues that I do not care to elaborate on in this forum -- and even though it's been hard, I'm glad for the challenges.  And work has been crazily full -- but it's been great.

OK -- it's still early yet in 2003 -- and God knows, there's still a lot of time for things to go south, not only in my own life but also in the world at large.  But I remain hopeful, in spite of the horrible things that happen every day.

(I know that this post may sound really odd given all the bad news and  that regularly appears on the news and in my blog and those of my friends (e.g., Karin)  But I stand by this optimism.  Check in next month, eh?)
